Cllr Ian James (Sheepscombe)
Cllr Ian James is the Chairman of The Finance, General Purposes and Personnel Committee and a Member of the Planning Committee.
Cllr Ian James is also a Trustee of the Sheepscombe Village Hall Committee.
I have lived in Gloucestershire since 1999 when I relocated to Cheltenham with my career.
I grew up in a very rural farming area on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire so felt very much at home when I started to explore the surrounding Cotswolds.
I moved to Sheepscombe twelve years ago and over this time I have been actively involved in many village activities, events and organisations.
Our village is very much an active one with a great sense of community spirit, the nerve centre of the village being the local pub the Butchers arms and the very well used and maintained Village Hall.
I became a co-opted Parish Councillor for Sheepscombe Ward in 2010, I felt it was important for our community to continue to have a voice and a presence within the Parish Council following the resignation of the previous councillor.
I am currently on my second term as an elected Councillor and very much enjoy being part of Painswick Parish Council and a representative for our community.
